Basketball Recap: Lincoln High Takes a Loss

Lincoln High played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Lincoln North Star Navigators 74-41. The loss continues a trend for the Links in their matchups with the Navigators: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Lincoln High still got an impressive performance from Brady Nick, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 22 points and eight rebounds. The game was Nick's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Lincoln North Star got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Castor out in front who posted 13 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Castor has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rieal Acin, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

Lincoln High's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Lincoln North Star, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Lincoln High and Grand Island will round out the year against one another at at 3:45 p.m. on December 28th. Grand Island is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season. As for Lincoln North Star, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-45 win against Millard North on the 21st.
