The Crete-Monee Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Argo Argonauts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Crete-Monee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Crete-Monee came out on top against Thornwood on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run fifth inning. The Warriors blew past the Thunderbirds 14-4. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now won nine in a row.

Dylan Dee tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bren Milburn, who went 3-for-5 with six stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Crete-Monee is 10-1 when Milburn posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Gaddis, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Crete-Monee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Argo hadn't done well against Bremen recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Argonauts came out on top against the Braves by a score of 7-3.
Scott Forston was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brennan Mackessy, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Crete-Monee's record is now 15-10. As for Argo, their record now sits at 11-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Crete-Monee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Argo struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Crete-Monee came out on top in a nail-biter against Argo in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
