Bryton Dawes was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Sadie Stringam and Ellie Reynolds did most of the damage at the plate: Stringam went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Reynolds scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That home run was Stringam's first of the season. Clarissa Hotton was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Copper Hills lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Bingham faced Ridgeline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Miners had just enough and edged out the Riverhawks 5-4.
Brooklynn Fogg was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shyann Banasky, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Bingham now has a winning record of 6-5-2. As for Copper Hills, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Copper Hills has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Bingham struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
