After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bloomingdale, the Brandon Eagles were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They snuck past Alonso with a 29-24 win. For Brandon, this counts as revenge for the 62-10 defeat Alonso walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2021.
Brandon was led to victory by Julia Castany and Sofia Caserta. Castany scored 10 points, while Caserta scored 15 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Caserta has scored at least 25% of Brandon's points.
Despite the loss, Alonso saw an underclassman step up: Aliya Hannah scored 12 points. Hannah scored a full 50% of Alonso's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory got Brandon back to even at 1-1. As for Alonso, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Brandon will head out on the road to face off against Durant at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Durant comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Alonso and Robinson will face off at 8:00 p.m. on December 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
