Alvord hasn't had much luck against Muenster recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Hornets at 9:00 a.m. Alvord is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Alvord's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Chico. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Makayla Gresham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Alvord let Harleigh Black and Bella McDermott run wild. Black scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while McDermott went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those two hits gave Black a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Muenster entered their tilt with Era on Monday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Era. The result was nothing new for Muenster, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Lilly Johnson was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Addison Aldriedge, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Muenster's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Alvord, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-7.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Alvord has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Muenster struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Alvord might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Muenster in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
