Basketball Recap: Armwood's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Armwood needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Jayden Dryden. The Armwood Hawks took down the Dunbar Tigers 79-61 on Monday thanks in part to Dryden, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Henry Morgan, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 16 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Dunbar's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayant Corona, who went 7 of 16 en route to 16 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Lauriston, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points and four steals.

Armwood now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Dunbar, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Armwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-44 victory against Hillsborough on the 7th. As for Dunbar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-54 loss against Cape Coral on the 7th.
