Fairless is 1-9 against Northwest since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Falcons will host the Indians at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Fairless has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Fairless will bounce into Monday's match after beating Dalton, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bulldogs 3-1.
Fairless got a great performance from Logan Barkan as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits.
On the hitting side, Lucas Peters was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Dean, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Tuslaw.
Northwest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Fairless, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-4.
Northwest's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fairless hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Northwest, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Fairless' hitters?
Fairless skirted past Northwest 5-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
