Basketball Recap: Baker Drops Season-High Score on Laurel Hill

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Baker). They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 83-44 win over the Laurel Hill Hoboes. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Baker was led to victory by Peyton Ellis and Cole Hardin. Ellis dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds, while Hardin went 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Chilton, who posted 12 points.

Baker was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Baker's fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.2 points. As for Laurel Hill, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Baker will host Jay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Baker has won four straight at home, while Jay won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Laurel Hill, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Arnold at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Arnold knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Laurel Hill likes a good challenge.
