The University Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 64-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Los Angeles CES. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for University in their matchups with the Unicorns: they've now lost six in a row.
Ian Uriarte and George Walls certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Uriarte scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Walls scored 16 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Uriarte has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isaac Soakai, who scored five points.
University's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Los Angeles CES, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.
University will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sheiks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Los Angeles CES, they will head out on the road to face off against the Gondoliers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Venice's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
