Volleyball Recap: Pioneer Gets the Win

Pioneer won the last time they faced Oak Grove and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mustangs came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Pioneer had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-13.

Oak Grove's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derek Trac, who had 20 assists and four digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Chhoun, who had 11 digs.

Pioneer's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Oak Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Coming up, Pioneer will head out to challenge Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Oak Grove, they will take on Santa Teresa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
