You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Carrizozo and San Jon/Grady. Carrizozo took the game and then some with a 69-14 win on Friday over San Jon/Grady.
Carrizozo got off to a slow start in their contest three weeks ago against Elida, but they had no such trouble against San Jon/Grady as they cruised to a 57-point first half. San Jon/Grady wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 14 to make it 57-14 heading into the break. The Carrizozo defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest. The victory bumped Carrizozo's record up to 6-1. The loss dropped San Jon/Grady back to even at 3-3.
Carrizozo will be playing at home against Animas at at 7:00 PM next week. San Jon/Grady will be playing at home against Elida at at 4:00 PM.
