The Brady Bulldogs waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 58-31 win over Florence at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Brady has posted since December 7, 2023.
Leading Brady to victory were Aiva Farris and Justice Duque. Farris dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Duque shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Duque scored 15 or more points. Lola Whisenhunt was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight steals and six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Florence lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaylie Hamm. Despite the final result, she scored eight points.
Brady pushed their record up to 14-16 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Florence, Llano, and Comfort. As for Florence, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.
Brady will head out on the road to face off against Comfort at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Florence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Llano at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
