The Leon Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They lost to Centerville on the road by a decisive 64-48 margin. Leon has struggled against Centerville recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Wade Neyland was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds for Centerville. Neyland is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 19 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trayce Schwab, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Leon dropped their record down to 5-18 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Centerville, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.
Leon will look to defend their home court on Friday against Latexo at 7:45 p.m. Latexo and Leon are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Centerville, they will head out on the road to face off against Grapeland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Grapeland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Centerville likes a good challenge.
