Volleyball Recap: Southside Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road + How To Watch

Southside hadn't done well against North Pitt recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Seahawks were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers. The Seahawks were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Panthers, so the Seahawks were just returning the favor.

While Southside won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15, 25-23.

Leading Southside to victory were Annalynn Silverthorne and Elanor Davis. Silverthorne had six digs and two aces, while Davis had eight digs. The dominant performance also gave Silverthorne a new career-high in assists (22).

They weren't the only good server: Southside was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They are a perfect 4-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Southside's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for North Pitt, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

North Pitt didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against West Craven on the 28th. Hopefully Southside paid attention to the Panthers' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
