Fairview is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Skyline a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Fairview Knights will welcome the Skyline Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
On Thursday, Fairview didn't have quite enough to beat Erie and fell 3-2. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-19 in the first set.
Fairview actually scored more points across those five sets (106-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 15-25, 25-22, 28-26, 15-8.
Meanwhile, Skyline didn't have quite enough to beat Mead on Thursday and fell 3-2. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mavericks 25-19 in the first set.
Skyline started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 15-25, 25-12, 27-25, 15-12.
Fairview will have to contain Marisol Sanchez as she made an impact in Skyline's last game. She had 26 digs and four aces. Sanchez has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more digs the last four times she's played.
Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Fairview, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
Everything went Fairview's way against Skyline when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Fairview made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
