The Loyola Crusaders can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They skirted past Schaeffer Academy 48-45. That's another feather in the cap for Loyola, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Schaeffer Academy still got an impressive performance from Lillian Morrisey, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Morrisey is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Winona Morgan, who scored four points along with three steals.
Loyola's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Schaeffer Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
Loyola will head out on the road to challenge the at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Minnesota (Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons is ranked 346th, while the Crusaders are ranked 328th). As for Schaeffer Academy, they will be playing at home against the Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully LeRoy-Ostrander focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday.
