The Erath Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crowley Gent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Erath and six for Crowley.
Last Friday, Erath was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-40 to Kaplan.
Crowley suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 74-17 loss at the hands of Abbeville. Crowley has struggled against Abbeville recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Crowley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alaysia Arvie, who scored ten points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 58.8% of Crowley's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Erath has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Crowley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
Erath beat Crowley 58-45 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Erath repeat their success, or does Crowley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
