Basketball Recap: Tenzin Tinley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fountain Valley over Pikes Peak Christian

After flying high against Dolores Huerta Prep last Thursday, Fountain Valley came back down to earth. The Fountain Valley Danes took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pikes Peak Christian Eagles on Tuesday. The Danes were up 26-8 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Several Danes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tenzin Tinley, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave Tinley a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Nick Prantl, who put up 15 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pikes Peak Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eddie Harmon, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 19 boards. Harmon is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 23 games he's played dating back to last season. Matthew Crocfer was another key player, going 9 of 14 on his way to 22 points and three steals.

Fountain Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Pikes Peak Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Fountain Valley has already played their next matchup (against Lotus School For Excellence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pikes Peak Christian will welcome Kiowa at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Pikes Peak Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
