The Athens Golden Eagles will take on the Sparkman Senators at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Athens is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Athens will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Bob Jones on Thursday. Athens put the hurt on Bob Jones with a sharp 21-5 victory. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.

Amaya Green was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Caitlyn Tedford was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Athens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .609. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bob Jones only posted a batting average of .357.
Meanwhile, Sparkman came up short against Brooks on Monday and fell 11-6.
Bella Mayfield was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Laila Watkins, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Sparkman's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Athens, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Athens hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Sparkman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
