Baseball Recap: Dominican Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Dominican had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Milwaukee Riverside Tigers as they made off with a 10-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Michael Griesel and Tyler Feldbruegge made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Griesel pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Feldbruegge tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Griesel posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Griesel scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Feldbruegge scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Perez-Cruz, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Gavin Olen, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI.

Dominican always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milwaukee Riverside only posted an OBP of .118.

Dominican didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Luther Prep on the 4th. As for Milwaukee Riverside, they will challenge Random Lake at 4:30 p.m. on the 11th.
