The Harlem Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 58-48 to Hononegah. Harlem was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hononegah apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Mateo Perera and Bo Beehler certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Perera scored 16 points, while Beehler scored 16 points. Beehler scored a full 33.3% of Harlem's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mason Walsh was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 8 rebounds.
Harlem now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Hononegah, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Harlem will head out on the road to face off against Belvidere North at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Belvidere North will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Hononegah, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Guilford at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Guilford presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hononegah in Illinois (Guilford is ranked 149th, while Hononegah is ranked 345th).
