Basketball Recap: Domiya Foreman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat South Sumter

Hope Academy won the last time they faced South Sumter and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hope Academy Trojan Tigers came out on top against the South Sumter Raiders by a score of 36-28. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojan Tigers.

Hope Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Domiya Foreman out in front who posted 18 points and eight steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Foreman has scored at least a third of Hope Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Maliyah Riley, who scored four points and 13 boards.

Hope Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Hope Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for South Sumter, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Hope Academy will head out to face off against Eustis at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Sumter, they will take on Lake Minneola at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
