The Bloomfield Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Northeast Dubois Jeeps at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast Dubois took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bloomfield, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Bloomfield earned a 49-42 victory over White River Valley. Given Bloomfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while White River Valley is ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Northeast Dubois came up short against Forest Park on Saturday and fell 57-44.
Despite their loss, Northeast Dubois saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aidan Sheetz, who scored seven points, was perhaps the best of all. Sheetz set a new season high mark in steals with two. Another player making a difference was Grant Goller, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Northeast Dubois struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Northeast Dubois, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Bloomfield beat Northeast Dubois 56-47 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bloomfield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
