The Glendale Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the Northern Cambria Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Glendale took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Juniata Valley, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since September 9th.
Glendale had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 26-28, 27-25, 25-15, 15-7.

It was another big night for Rachel McClellan, who had 39 kills, 14 digs, and three blocks. That's the most digs she has posted over her last 12 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Matish, who had 32 assists and 13 digs.
Meanwhile, Northern Cambria sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Penns Manor on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colts.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Northern Cambria got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-9.
Northern Cambria's victory bumped their record up to 10-7-1. As for Glendale, they now have a winning record of 11-10-1.
Glendale might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Northern Cambria in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
