The Academy at the Lakes Wildcats can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 57-24 win over Lakeland Christian at home. The win was just what Academy at the Lakes needed coming off of a 64-30 loss in their prior contest.
Despite the defeat, Lakeland Christian saw an underclassman step up: Issa Simpson scored eight points along with 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kiya Boyce, who scored three points.
The win got Academy at the Lakes back to even at 5-5. As for Lakeland Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academy at the Lakes won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Canterbury at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Canterbury is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Lakeland Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Frostproof at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
