Rushville is 9-0 against Connersville since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Rushville Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Connersville Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Rushville is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Rushville struggled with offensive rebounds on Thursday (Batesville had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The game between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Rushville falling 54-36.
Rushville's defeat came about despite a quality game from Leonie Boyer, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Boyer also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Carly Senour, who scored eight points.
Connersville suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 63-42 loss at the hands of Pendleton Heights. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Connersville in their matchups with Pendleton Heights: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite their defeat, Connersville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hailey Sembach, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahniyah Bennett, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Rushville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Connersville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Rushville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Connersville when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 49-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rushville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
