The Wooster Colts fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 53-20 win over Truckee. With Wooster ahead 31-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Taimane Talamoni had a dynamite game for Wooster, scoring 19 points. Aliitasi Bates was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Despite the loss, Truckee saw an underclassman step up: Elsa Voegele scored eight points.
Wooster's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Truckee, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Wooster will be playing at home against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Hug is ranked 89th, while the Colts are ranked 64th). As for Truckee, they will head out on the road to square off against the Railroaders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sparks is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
