Skyview is a perfect 10-0 against Emmett since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Hawks will be playing at home against the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. Skyview's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Emmett's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Skyview is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Bishop Kelly, who was ranked fourth at the time (Skyview was ranked 21st). The Hawks won by a run and slipped past the Knights 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.
Aaron Vavold was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Emmett). They blew past Weiser 11-1 on Friday.
Kash Walton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Walton was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Browne, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nate Rolland, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Emmett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weiser only managed three.
Skyview's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Emmett, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Skyview has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Emmett struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Skyview got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Emmett by a conclusive 14-7 score. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
