The Glenn Falcons entered their tilt with the South Bend Adams Eagles with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Glenn sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-49 win over the Eagles on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Glenn, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Glenn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Miller, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Joey Shoue, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds.
Despite the loss, South Bend Adams saw an underclassman step up: Jarvis Tolbert scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That was a full 40.8% of South Bend Adams' points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kj Johnston was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and two steals.
Glenn has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for South Bend Adams, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glenn will take on the Kingsmen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Penn presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Falcons in Indiana (the Kingsmen are ranked 39th, while the Falcons are ranked 198th). As for South Bend Adams, they will play host again and welcome the Lions, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bremen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
