Last Wednesday, Samueli Academy kept a clean sheet against Pacifica Christian/Orange County. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Tritons. Give Samueli Academy's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Isaac Barriga and
Isaac Bruno, who scored both of Samueli Academy's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 40 so far this season.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Western Christian walked away with it. They skirted past the Lions 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Western Christian was the better team in the second half.
Samueli Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Western Christian, the win got them back to even at 9-9-1.
