Baseball Recap: South Jones Wins Going Away Against Brookhaven

While South Jones put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Brookhaven. The Braves blew past the Panthers 6-0. Considering the Braves have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dylan Causey made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Logan Langley looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

Causey wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cambridge McDaniel, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Russ Thompson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

The victory snapped South Jones' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-6 record. As for Brookhaven, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-9.

South Jones will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
