The Bendle Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Genesee on the road to the tune of 85-51. Bendle has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Elijah Boyd, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 5 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Malis Firman, who scored ten points along with eight assists and two steals.
Despite the loss, Genesee had strong showings from Aiden Croak, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and seven blocks, and Connor Rouse, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 43.1% of Genesee's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Q Bannoura was another key contributor, scoring six points.
The victory (which was Bendle's third in a row) raised their record to 9-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Genesee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bendle will face off against New Standard Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Genesee will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on New Lothrop at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th.
