Despite the defeat, Southeast of Saline had strong showings from Brenton Leeds, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds, and Owen Bailey, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-42, which was the final score in Smoky Valley's tilt against Abilene on Friday.
Despite their loss, Smoky Valley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ki Blanchat, who scored 22 points, was perhaps the best of all. Taylor Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Southeast of Saline's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Smoky Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-1.
Everything went Southeast of Saline's way against Smoky Valley in their previous meeting back in January as Southeast of Saline made off with a 63-38 victory.
