The Attica Red Ramblers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 78-27 loss at the hands of Fountain Central. Attica was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-8.
Leading Fountain Central to victory were Isaac Gayler and Will Harmon. Gayler scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Harmon scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Gayler hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Foxworthy, who scored nine points.
Attica's loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.0 points per game. As for Fountain Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-9.
Attica will head out on the road to take on South Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Attica will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while South Vermillion is ranked 197th). As for Fountain Central, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Parke Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Parke Heritage will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Fountain Central surely won't give up without a fight.
