The Reagan County Owls's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 36-28 to Sonora. Reagan County has not had much luck with Sonora recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
It was another big night for Jayla Williams, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals for Sonora. Williams is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ravyn Aguero, who scored five points along with six steals.
Reagan County has been struggling recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season. As for Sonora, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-18.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reagan County will take on Forsan at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sonora, they will be playing at home against Water Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Water Valley is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
