The Benson Bunnies are on the road again on Friday and play against the Millard North Mustangs. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Benson beat Westview 57-48.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Benson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ahmani Klabunde, who scored 32 points along with 5 assists. Klabunde is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzie Lewis, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 blocks.
Meanwhile, Millard North didn't have too much trouble with Lincoln East on the road on Saturday as they won 57-40. Given Millard North's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Lincoln East is ranked 189th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Benson now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Millard North, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Benson came up short against Millard North when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 60-56. Thankfully for Benson, Megan Chambers (who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
