The BASIS Phoenix Firebirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 81-14 loss at the hands of Glendale Prep Academy. While losing is never fun, BASIS Phoenix can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Glendale Prep Academy is ranked 42nd).
Glendale Prep Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maddox Smith out in front who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Andersen, who scored 12 points along with 5 assists.
BASIS Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Glendale Prep Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. BASIS Phoenix will take on Phoenix Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glendale Prep Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Veritas Prep at 7:00 p.m.
