The Victoria Knights were the 38-33 winner over the LaCrosse Leopards when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. Victoria fell 38-29 to LaCrosse on Friday. Victoria has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Averi Windholz and Emma Dinkel certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Windholz scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Dinkel scored three points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Windholz hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Brinly Lichter, who scored five points.
Leading LaCrosse to victory were Madison Morgan and Hannah Dellett. Morgan scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Dellett scored ten points. Morgan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Molly Showalter was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Victoria's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-9. As for LaCrosse, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Victoria will be playing at home against Ellinwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for LaCrosse, they will head out on the road to take on Macksville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Macksville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
