South Bend Career Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Mishawaka Marian is ranked 134th).
Last Thursday, South Bend Career Academy came up short against Bethany Christian and fell 59-51.
Meanwhile, Mishawaka Marian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past South Bend Clay 76-42 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Mishawaka Marian has posted since December 8, 2023.
Mishawaka Marian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Zion Rhoades, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and William Owens, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Paxan Sullivan, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
South Bend Career Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Mishawaka Marian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
South Bend Career Academy was taken down by Mishawaka Marian 103-25 when the teams last played back in February of 2015.
