The Maypearl Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Life Oak Cliff Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Maypearl can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 41-12 win over Madison at home. The victory was just what Maypearl needed coming off of a 71-14 loss in their prior contest.
J.t. Washington was a one-man wrecking crew for Maypearl as he rushed for 229 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 52 receiving yards. Washington hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.
Meanwhile, Life Oak Cliff's three-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They took down A Plus Academy 17-0. The victory was just what Life Oak Cliff needed coming off of a 52-30 defeat in their prior contest.
Maypearl's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Life Oak Cliff, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Maypearl took their victory against Life Oak Cliff when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 81-61. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maypearl since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
