Softball Recap: Yates Extends Winning Streak to Four

Yates had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Furr Brahmans. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Yates' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Furr, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Yates Lions take on Wheatley Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on March 26th. As for Furr, they will host Washington at 8:00 p.m. on March 25th. Washington has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something Furr will no doubt try to take advantage of.
