J.R. Tucker and Freeman are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Tigers will take on the Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Freeman will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: J.R. Tucker extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. Everything went the Tigers' way against Maggie Walker as they made off with a 14-6 victory.

Emily Bryant made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Aleea Cobb and Miyah Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Cobb got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Williams got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Cobb has snagged this season. Victoria Smith was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
J.R. Tucker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Freeman never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hermitage on Wednesday. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. With that victory, the Mavericks brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on Ryleigh Perks, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Sarah Chilton, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
J.R. Tucker pushed their record up to 4-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Freeman, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.
J.R. Tucker might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Freeman in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
