The Brookfield Warriors entered their tilt with the Maplewood Rockets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Brookfield walked away with a 49-42 victory over Maplewood on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Brookfield also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
It was another big night for Matteo Fortuna, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Brookfield's points. Another player making a difference was Nevon Hoffman, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Brookfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Maplewood, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Brookfield will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Maplewood is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Lakeview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
