The Bishop Moore Hornets will face off against the Trinity Prep Saints at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop Moore has four straight victories, Trinity Prep has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bishop Moore proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 12) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Umatilla 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since April 3, 2025.
Annabelle Oehler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Oehler was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adrianna Lara, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Virginia Branson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Bishop Moore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Trinity Prep had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Windermere Prep on Thursday, falling 17-1.
Emma Hartung was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Bishop Moore's record is now 4-0. As for Trinity Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Bishop Moore suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Trinity Prep in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
