Jackson South Side extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Jaidynn Askins. The Jackson South Side Hawks breezed by the Haywood Tomcats to the tune of 66-34 on Friday thanks in part to Askins, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in February.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ri'Kiya Mitchell, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 13 points along with six steals and five boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game.

Kamiya Robertson and Leia Yancey certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Robertson posted nine points and five steals, while Yancey put up seven points. Robertson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Jackson South Side pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Haywood, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-5.

Jackson South Side didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-21 victory against Bolivar Central on the 9th. As for Haywood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-39 loss against Crockett County on the 10th.
