The Salem Hills Skyhawks will head out on the road to take on the Wasatch Wasps at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem Hills knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Wasatch likes a good challenge.
Even though Cedar Valley scored an imposing 73 points on Friday, Salem Hills still came out on top. Salem Hills managed a 78-73 win over Cedar Valley.
Salem Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chase Degraffenried led the charge by scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Degraffenried has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kolby Dyches, who scored 20 points.
Meanwhile, Wasatch came into Friday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Spanish Fork by a score of 72-63 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Salem Hills' win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Wasatch, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12.
Salem Hills beat Wasatch 77-70 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Salem Hills since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
