The Tse' Yi' Gai Dine Warriors managed to keep up with the To'hajiilee Warriors until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Tse' Yi' Gai took a serious blow against To'hajiilee, falling 66-35. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tse' Yi' Gai in their matchups with To'hajiilee: they've now lost three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead To'hajiilee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khyran Guerro , who scored 20 points. The matchup was Guerro 's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Belone , who scored 16 points.
Tse' Yi' Gai's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for To'hajiilee, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tse' Yi' Gai's road trip will continue as they head out to face Jemez Valley at 3:30 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Jemez Valley is ranked 137th, while Tse' Yi' Gai is ranked 146th). To'hajiilee will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Ramah at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
