Jamestown is a perfect 10-0 against Oil City since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Muskies will look to defend their home field against the Oilers at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jamestown has three straight victories, Oil City has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Jamestown barely beat Sharpsville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Muskies were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Blue Devils on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Muskies, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Miranda Biles made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alayna Cadman, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Camilla Cox was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Jamestown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sharpsville only posted a batting average of .250.
Franklin hit Oil City with a ten-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Oilers came up short against the Knights, falling 14-4.
Shalyn Whittemore made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Oil City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Jamestown, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
Oil City's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Jamestown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Oil City, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Jamestown keep running through batters, or will the Oilers buck the trend?
Jamestown took their victory against Oil City when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 19-1 score. Do the Muskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Oilers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
