The Peninsula Catholic Knights waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They breezed by KIPP DC Legacy College Prep on the road to the tune of 70-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Peninsula Catholic has posted since November 30, 2023.
EJ Joyner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Gaines, who scored 15 points.
Peninsula Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for KIPP DC Legacy College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Peninsula Catholic will head out on the road to take on Hampton Roads Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton Roads Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Peninsula Catholic is ranked 40th). As for KIPP DC Legacy College Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Capital City Public Charter School at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Capital City Public Charter School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Thursday.
