1A Smoky Mountain recap Nov. 7, 2012
Swain County extended the longest winning streak in 1A Smoky Mountain this week by beating East Wilkes, 68-22. The victory was the 12th in a row for the Maroon Devils.
Murphy took down Cherokee 69-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Swain County's Ray Smith and Greg Tisho have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 1332 yards this season, while Tisho, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 33 catches for 779 yards. Hayesville's Caleb Nuklolls leads the league in rushing yards with 671.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bulldogs take on Robbinsville. As it stands, Murphy is in second, while the Black Knights are in third.
David Gentry's team led 1A Smoky Mountain in scoring this week after putting up 69 points on the Braves.
